JP MORGAN INVESTMENT BANKING COMP

Do you feel like a winner? We're offering you the chance to put your business acumen, team skills and raw ambition against an authentic business challenge from JPMorgan. The Deal is an Asia Pacific competition for students graduating in 2007 or 2008, which is based on a large merger and acquisition case study. The important thing is that you'll be exposed to the dynamics, dilemmas and decisions of investment banking. The Deal is fast, complex and thoroughly absorbing - exactly like the real thing. And as with the real world, the rewards for success are very high. The winning teams will share prize money of USD 2,000 for the University Champions, USD 4,000 for the Country Champions and USD 8,000 for the Asia Pacific Champion. The Country Championships will happen in Melbourne and Beijing, while the Asia Pacific final and award ceremony will be in Sydney; if you don't already live in the venue city for the finals, we'll fly you in and put you up at a hotel. This is a fantastic chance to learn more about Investment Banking and get advice and first-hand feedback from JPMorgan bankers who do this kind of thing for a living.

Welcome

Welcome to the new FINSOC blog!

The semester 2 kicked off for Finsoc with the hugely successful IB Summer Internship evening, held in the Scientia. The event included presentations by 4 of the largest investment banks in Australia: UBS, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. Students had the chance to find out in depth what it is like to work for an investment bank through recent graduates. The presentations was followed by drinks where students had the chance to speak to senior bankers and make a lasting impression.
